Evolia’s smart punch adjustment settings allow you to automate and fine-tune the management of worked hours, breaks, and punch tolerances. These options provide greater accuracy in payroll calculations and help streamline handling of punch-related exceptions. Here’s how to access and update these settings according to your preferences.
-
Go to the Evolia web console.
-
Click on the Settings icon.
-
Select Time and Attendance.
-
Go to the Smart Punch Settings section.
-
Choose from the various adjustment options:
-
Paid Tolerance: Allows payment for additional minutes before or after the scheduled shift. When enabled, tolerance takes precedence over rounding and automatic punch correction.
-
Display Salary in real time: Shows the estimated gross salary for the current shift on the employee's homepage.
-
Automatic Adjustment of clock in and out: When the employee punches in or out within the specified time window, the paid time is adjusted to the scheduled time.
-
Smart Breaks Adjustment: When the employee punches the start or end of a break within the allowed range, the paid time is adjusted to match the scheduled break duration.
-
Use planned Break Time when an employee does not clock their unpaid break :
If an unpaid break is scheduled and the employee forgets to punch it or takes a shorter break, Evolia’s smart punch will automatically apply the scheduled break duration to the timesheet. -
Use planned break time when an employee does not clock their entire unpaid break:
If an unpaid break is scheduled and the employee does not punch the full duration, Evolia’s smart punch will apply the full scheduled break time to the timesheet. -
Apply the paid break if it has not been used at the end of the shift:
If an employee finishes their shift without using a paid break, that break time will be added to the employee’s worked hours. -
Limit paid break duration:
If an employee takes a paid break longer than the allotted time, the excess will be converted into unpaid break time. -
Clocking Rounding:
If the employee punches outside the tolerance windows around the scheduled shift, the time will be rounded to the nearest X minutes.
